Stolen Cash, Gun Found In Fairfield Man's Home After Armed Robbery
FAIRFIELD (CBS SF) -- Police arrested a Fairfield man Thursday after police searched his apartment and recovered a gun and stolen cash.
At 7:30 p.m., a resident called police to report that he had just been robbed at gunpoint on Peach Tree Drive, according to police.
When officers met with the victim, officers learned the suspect was an acquaintance of the victim, police said.
Officers checked the area and located the suspect's vehicle in the parking lot of a nearby apartment complex, according to police.
At the same time, officers spotted a person matching the suspect description walking out of the complex, police said.
Officers contacted 27-year-old Ryan Middleton, and the victim positively identified Middleton as the person who robbed him, police said.
As officers were processing Middleton's vehicle for evidence, they learned that Middleton lived at the complex and began preparing a search warrant for his apartment, according to police.
Once a judge signed the warrant, officers served the warrant at the apartment.
There, officers recovered a black semi-automatic handgun and the same amount of money the victim had reported stolen, police said.
Police booked Middleton into Solano County Jail on suspicion of felony robbery and assault with a deadly weapon, according to police.
