Stabbing At Pittsburg/Bay Point BART Station Briefly Haults Service

PITTSBURG (CBS SF) -- BART police are investigating a stabbing at the Pittsburg Bay Point station Sunday that briefly halted service in the area, according to BART police.

Reports that a man had been stabbed at the station first came in at 4:32 p.m., according to Lt. Steve Coontz.

The stabbing stemmed from an altercation between two men, Coontz said.

Coontz said the victim sustained stab wounds that are not considered life threatening.

Although the investigation stopped train service briefly, the station remained open throughout the day.

According to Coontz, the incident remains under investigation.
