Sharks Super Fans Talk Players, Performance On 'Pucknology After Dark' Show

SAN JOSE (KPIX 5) -- Super Fans of the San Jose Sharks have created a buzz among loyal teal followers with their 'Pucknology After Dark' show as the Sharks look to continue to make history.

"Good morning, Sharks fans.  It is a day that we have been waiting for, for a very, very long time," Host Erik Kuhre said.

Welcome to "Pucknology After Dark," a live, online discussion for Sharks fans before and after the games.

"Our goal was to have a live call-in show, let fans voice their opinions about the team, because there wasn't any outlet at the time," Kuhre said.

The whole thing began last year when Erik Kuhre and his buddy began recording themselves on an iPhone as they walked back to their car after a game.  They posted it online, and 'Pucknology' was born.

Now Erik, known as "Puck Guy," is joined by five other fellow Shark fanatics to discuss strategy and player performance. Mostly, it's just six friends shooting the bull about their favorite topic.

And because it's online, its reach is worldwide.   Ian Reid grew up a Sharks fan, in Ontario, Canada.

"I catch a decent amount of flak, but everyone's pretty quiet right now," Reid, a contributor to the show said.

The show has allowed Erik Landi to stay connected to the Sharks even though he now lives in San Diego.

"It always brings me back home to talk with these guys and it makes me nostalgic for home," Landi, another contributor to the show said.

The guys say the Sharks have never gotten much love from the local media, so they created their own.  It may take a while for 'Pucknology' to go viral, but these guys know something about being patient.
