Abducted Mountain View Baby Found Safe; Father Still At Large

MOUNTAIN VIEW (CBS SF) -- A missing Mountain View baby who was abducted by her father after a domestic dispute with the child's mother has been found safe in Livermore, authorities said.

However, Mountain View police said that her father -- 45-year-old Michael Wallin -- remains at large.

Mountain View police spokeswoman Katie Nelson said the incident began with a dispute between the mother and Wallin at the Residence Inn in Mountain View at 8:30 p.m. The mother had been staying there with her infant daughter -- four-month-old Madilyn -- and her 28-year-old son.

Wallin grabbed the child, jumped into the car and drove out of the parking lot. Nelson said the mother was dragged for a short distance as Wallin fled -- suffering minor injuries.

The son jumped into another vehicle and attempted to pursue Wallin. However, Wallin slammed on his brakes causing a collision and then escaped, Nelson said.

Nelson said Wallin was from Patterson and that the Patterson police had been contacted.

The pair was last seen in a blue four-door Nissan Altima with paper license plates and front-end and rear damage from the collision.

Michael Wallin is described as being 6-foot-2, 220 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a Warriors t-shirt and has full body tattoos including on the tops of his hands.

Madilyn was last wearing a white top and pink ballerina outfit.
