Scooter Rider Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries In San Francisco Hit-And-Run
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- A 43-year-old man riding a scooter suffered life-threatening injuries during a hit-and-run early Friday morning in San Francisco's South of Market neighborhood.
Around 2:25 a.m. the man was riding a scooter through the intersection of Eighth and Howard streets, according to police.
A vehicle also passing through the intersection then struck the scooter on its side before fleeing the scene, police said.
The rider suffered a compound fracture and a head wound and was taken to the hospital, according to police.
The suspect vehicle was described as a dark colored SUV. A description of the driver was not immediately available.
