Update: Man dies from injuries following weekend stabbing in downtown San Jose
SAN JOSE – A man died from his injuries Monday after being stabbed in downtown San Jose the night earlier, police said.
Officers were called to the 200 block of Bassett Street on reports of a stabbing shortly before 10:45 p.m. Sunday night. When they arrived, they found a man suffering from life-threatening injuries.
The man was taken a local hospital. On Monday afternoon, police announced the victim had succumbed to his injuries.
The victim in this incident succumbed to his injuries. This event has now been updated to a Homicide. Number 17 of 2023.

Police said the incident is the city's 17th homicide of 2023.
The victim's name was not released. Additional details about the stabbing were not immediately available.
