San Jose Police Scramble To Find Woman Behind Two Bank Robberies
SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- Police in San Jose say one woman is behind a crime spree, and they are scrambling to find her before she strikes again.
Detective Michael Villanueva of the San Jose Police has 18 years experience on the force, but says he's never encountered a bank robber quite like this.
Clad in yoga pants, a hoodie, and large sunglasses, Villanueva says the key to her success has been the fact that she looks like everyone else.
"She's able to walk in, pass the note, obtain the money, and walk out without being detected," Villanueva said.
The woman who has been captured in surveillance footage is believed to be behind two robberies in San Jose.
The first robbery was at a Chase Bank on Almaden Expressway, followed by another at a U.S. Bank inside Nob Hill Market on Snell Avenue.
Police are concerned her crime spree isn't over.
"The concern is that she will continue to do this, and that she will possibly become more aggressive or more violent," Villanueva said.
