Woman found dead inside San Jose home where suspect was barricaded
San Jose police said a woman was found dead inside the home where a suspect had been barricaded and refusing to follow police commands.
On Monday around 6 p.m., police responded to a residence in the 300 block of North 20th Street after receiving reports of shots fired from inside the residence. Police said the suspect barricaded themselves inside and refused to come out.
Special operations personnel were called to the scene to try to negotiate a peaceful surrender, police said.
Just after 8:30 p.m., the suspect left the home and was arrested. Officers then found a woman inside the home.
San Jose police are now investigating the incident as a homicide.
Police said the motive and the circumstances of the homicide are currently unknown.
