San Jose Police Find Evidence Of Marijuana Grow Operation In Vacant Home

SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- San Jose police who searched a vacant home a block north of state Highway 85 in South San Jose on Monday found evidence of marijuana cultivation but the plants already had been removed, officers said.

Police responded to a call at 8:30 a.m. Monday from neighbors who reported something suspicious was happening at a house on 5000 Block of Paddon Circle a block west of Lean Avenue, police said.

Officers learned that suspects who had been in the house had bypassed the PG&E power meter, according to police.

After entering the home, police found evidence of a marijuana growing operation, but no plants had been left behind.

Police so far have not identified any suspects related to the grow house and the investigation is ongoing.
