San Jose Man Wins $15 Million Lottery Prize With Safeway-Bought Ticket

SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- One man is on his way to becoming a multi-millionaire after he bought a winning lottery ticket at a San Jose grocery store, California Lottery officials announced Wednesday.

Just three days after matching all six SuperLotto Plus numbers from Saturday's draw, Thomas Wroblewski arrived at a Lottery District office to claim his $15 million prize, according to lottery officials.

If Wroblewski decides to opt for the cash prize, he will receive a lump sum amount of $9.5 million before taxes, lottery officials said.

Wroblewski has declined any request for interviews, according to lottery officials.

Wroblewski bought the winning ticket at a Safeway store, located at 179 Branham Lane. The store's owners will receive a retailer bonus of $75,000 just for selling the winning ticket, lottery officials said.
