Woman Stabbed On San Francisco's Market Street, Suspect Arrested

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) – A woman was stabbed during an argument along San Francisco's Market Street Tuesday afternoon, police said.

The 51-year-old victim was arguing with a 49-year-old man at Seventh and Market streets shortly before 4:45 p.m. when the man allegedly approached her from behind, knocked her to the ground and stabbed her several times with a knife, police said.

The woman was taken to a hospital with stab wounds to the torso, but is expected to survive her injuries, police said.

The suspect was located and arrested by responding officers, but his identity has not yet been released.
