San Francisco Students Shaken Up After School Bus Veers Onto Sidewalk

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- A group of students was shaken up and being treated for complaints of pain after a minor school bus accident in San Francisco's Bayview District Thursday, a police spokeswoman said.

Around 8:45 a.m., a school bus driver attempted to make a u-turn on Cashmere Street when the vehicle's rear tire went over the roadway's center median, tossing the bus and the children inside around, San Francisco police Officer Danielle Newman said.

After the accident several of the students "got scared and ran off the bus" and down the street, she said.

Emergency responders located the children near Ingalls Street and La Salle Avenue, Newman said.

She said about nine children were being evaluated for complaints of pain after the accident.

No other injuries were reported and no other vehicles were involved.
