San Francisco Job Outlook In Health Care Industry Is Exceptional

The job outlook in the health care industry in San Francisco is exceptional according to San Francisco resident Dr. Anuruddh Misra - medical director for U.S. Healthworks. An expert in Occupational Medicine, Sports Medicine and Internal Medicine, Dr. Misra has extensive professional experience in the Bay Area and in addition to his role with U.S. Healthworks. He also serves as the physician for the Consulate General of India in San Francisco and team physician for both the Los Angeles Dodgers and Toronto Blue Jays whenever the teams play locally.

What is your background and education?

"I am a Board Certified Internal Medicine physician with subspecialty fellowship training in Sports Medicine. I completed my Internal Medicine residency at St. Mary's Hospital and Medical Center/UCSF in San Francisco and my fellowship training at The Andrews Institute with Dr. James Andrews in Florida."

What is your outlook on the health care industry in San Francisco for jobs?

"The outlook in the health care industry for jobs in San Francisco is exceptional, due to the confluence of science, technology and entrepreneurship. San Francisco has always been a leader in medicine and will continue to be one of the most exciting places in the world to be in for health care."

What career advice can you offer to students interested in a career in health care?

"First decide on precisely what you want to do; then determine what sacrifices you are going to need to make in order to achieve your goal. There will be failures and setbacks - some of which at times seem insurmountable - nonetheless keep at it."

"I am enjoying my career, now having decided what I wanted to do in high school. I wish the same feeling for any and all who decide to go down the path of health care, be it as a nurse, pharmacist, dentist, physical therapist or whatever one's passion is."

"Keep in mind this profession changes your life-like little else can and not necessarily for the better. It is a high stress profession, wherein one often does not lead a balanced life. Always ensure you have good mental and physical health during this journey because it is easy to lose sight of it when working towards achieving these goals."
