Giants Players To Receive $388,000 Each For Winning World Series

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- As Pablo Sandoval leaves the San Francisco Giants for the Boston Red Sox, Major League Baseball announced Monday that Sandoval and his now former teammates will receive payouts of nearly $400,000 each for winning the 2014 World Series.

According to MLB, the Giants postseason pool totaled $22,329,526.27, with a value of a full share totaling $388,605.94. The players voted to issue 47 full shares, 9.65 partial shares and 17 cash awards.

For the Kansas City Royals, who lost to the Giants in seven games, their playoff pool is $14,886,350.85. The value of each Royals share is $230,699.73. Kansas City approved 54 full shares.

The Oakland Athletics, who lost to the Royals in the American League Wild Card Game, did not end up empty handed. Oakland's playoff pool totaled $930,396, with each share amounting to $15,266.43. The A's approved 53 full shares, 6.42 partial shares and 18 cash awards.

According to The Associated Press, the postseason pool equals 50 percent of gate receipts from the Wild Card games and 60 percent from the first three games of the Division Series and the first four games of the ALCS, NLCS and the World Series.
