Sam Smith Wins GRAMMY Record of the Year for 'Stay with Me'
By Kevin Rutherford
The final award at the night during the GRAMMYs didn't go to an album—this time, it went to Record of the Year.
And in the spirit of domination, Sam Smith won. Again.
After cleaning up in the Best New Artist and Song of the Year categories—the latter for "Stay with Me" as well—Smith won the Record of the Year for "Stay with Me" (the Darkchild version—for the difference between it and the original, read this).

In his acceptance speech, Smith shouted out the man about whom he wrote "Stay with Me."
"Thank you so much for breaking my heart, because you won me four GRAMMYs," Smith said, shades of Adele.
It won out against Iggy Azalea and Charli XCX's "Fancy," Sia's "Chandelier," Taylor Swift's "Shake It Off" and Meghan Trainor's "All About That Bass."
Stevie Wonder and Jamie Foxx presented the award, Foxx doing his best impression of Ray Charles—he played him in Ray, after all—before announcing that Smith had cleaned up.
