CBS News Sacramento

The suspect in a car chase that happened in Sacramento was arrested in Vallejo on Sunday, the California Highway Patrol said.

Sacramento police said they tried to pull a car over just before 8 a.m., near Richards Boulevard and Interstate 5.

The driver refused to pull over and a chase ensued. Sacramento officers eventually abandoned the pursuit and let CHP take over.

According to the CHP, their chase was called off for safety reasons, but they were able to find the vehicle's registered address using its license plate number.

When officers went to the Vallejo address, they found the vehicle and initiated another car chase.

CHP was able to spike two of the car's tires, and it soon came to a stop. The driver was then arrested after trying to run from the car.
