Roads In 3 North Bay Towns Tied For Worst In Bay Area On MTC List
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Larkspur, St. Helena, and Petaluma have the Bay Area's worst roads according to the Metropolitan Transportation Commission.
Larkspur driver Nicole Urrea feels her car's pain daily.
"Oh God, here it comes. I'll hit the bump and hope there's no damage," Urrea told KPIX 5.
In Brentwood, Dublin, and El Cerrito it's just the opposite as the roads were listed as the best.
John Goodwin of the Metropolitan Transportation Commission says early action separates the best from the worst when it comes to road surface quality.
"That is going to require major rehabilitation to be brought up to a state of good repair," Goodwin said of a deteriorating road.

In Brentwood, crews spend their days doing minor repairs as a sort of preventative maintenance. Filling cracks can cost just one fifth the cost of repaving a street.
Brentwood resident Saundra Ramos has no complaints about the roads in her town. "They're fine. I get around fine here."
