Several evacuations for Ridge Fire in Lake, Colusa counties downgraded; 2,700 acres burned

Ridge Fire burns 2,300 acres, 10% contained

LAKE COUNTY – Evacuations have been downgraded in Lake County for a wind-driven fire that burned about 2,700 acres near the Lake and Colusa county line, officials say. 

The Ridge Fire sparked off Walker Ridge Road and Highway 20 on Saturday and was heading east into Colusa County, firefighters said.

Evacuations

An evacuation order was issued for Wilbur Hot Springs.

The Colusa County Sheriff's Office has mandatory evacuations for Bear Valley Road to Highway 20, WiIber Springs Road and Walker Ridge Road.

Leesville Road to Leeeville was under an evacuation order but that has been downgraded

In Lake County, evacuation orders for CLO-E083, CLO-E089, CLO-E022 and CLO-E070 were downgraded to warnings. CLO-E104 is no longer in a warning.  All evacuations in Lake County can be found online.

Cal Fire said 50 structures were threatened, with 30 being in Lake County and the other 20 in Colusa County. Despite the threats to structures, crews have said there have been no reports of damaged or destroyed structures. 

Road closures

Highway 20 was closed on Saturday but opened shortly before noon on Sunday. 

Leesville Road is closed at Bear Valley Road, and Bear Valley Road is closed at Highway 20.

Fire conditions

Crews said the fire grew to 2,300 acres within the first give hours, but has only grown about 450 acres over the last two day.

As of 3:45 p.m. Monday, the fire was mapped at 2,756 acres and was 25% contained. 

What sparked the fire is unknown at this point.
