Residents Gather To Support Richmond City Councilmember Bullied Over Race, Sexual Orientation
RICHMOND (CBS SF) -- Residents gathered in support of a Richmond city councilmember who has been bullied and taunted at meetings for her race and sexual orientation.
Supporters of councilmember Jovanka Beckles say it's not okay for members of the public to bully her.
"It's not really about her politics, it's about who she is, and I don't think it's ever okay to name call about who someone is," demonstrator Alfreda Wright said.
