Redwood City Man Suspected Of Raping 10-Year Old Behind Bars
REDWOOD CITY (CBS SF) -- A man suspected of molesting a 10-year-old child numerous times is in a San Mateo County jail.
Detectives arrested Benjamin Ramirez Ruiz of Redwood City after receiving reports a child was being molested by a family member at a home in the North Fair Oaks neighborhood.
Investigators conducted surveillance of the home in the 1600 block of Gordon Street and found sufficient evidence to arrest Ruiz, according to San Mateo County Sheriff's.
The 39-year-old was booked into the San Mateo County jail on several felony charges of rape and sex acts with a minor.
The child is in a "safe place," according to authorities.
Ruiz is being held without bail.
