Popular Fireball Liquor Recalled In Europe Over Antifreeze Ingredient
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - European drinkers are in for a bit of a buzzkill after a popular liquor label is being recalled due to a chemical that's also found in antifreeze.
The cinnamon whiskey liquor contains propylene glycol, an ingredient that absorbs water.
The Food and Drug Administration has said the compound is "generally safe" for use in food in the United States. The rules are different in Europe.
Don't expect to see the frat-house favorite banned here anytime soon.
