Police Seek Suspect In Armed Robbery Of Mission District Restaurant
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Police in San Francisco asked for the public's help Wednesday in their search for a robbery suspect who stole over $1,200 in cash from a restaurant in the Mission District last month.
On November 8 at approximately 3:30 a.m., a suspect described as a black male, around 30 to 40 years old, approximately 6'02" tall and weighing 250 pounds smashed the front glass door of a restaurant on the 5400 block of Mission Street.
In surveillance video released by the SFPD, the suspect is seen entering the locked premises while employees were in the back of the building. The suspect is then seen holding what appears to be a handgun covered under a black cloth.
The suspect ordered the employees to the back of the store and had them sit on the ground before demanding one employee to open the main safe.
The suspect stole all of the cash from the safe and then ordered the employee to open the cash registers and took money from the tills. The suspect then fled the restaurant in an unknown direction.
This robbery took place in approximately seven minutes.
San Francisco Police are asking the public to look at the video to see if anyone can provide assistance in locating the criminal. The suspect was last seen wearing a black hoodie, red bandanna covering his mouth, blue pants, blue shoulder bag and a black cloth over a simulated gun.
Anyone with information on this crime is asked to contact the Anonymous Tip Line at (415) 575-4444, or Text A Tip to TIP411 and begin the text message with SFPD.
