Standoff with armed suspect in San jose ends with man in custody

SAN JOSE – Police in San Jose have taken a man into custody Monday afternoon after a standoff that lasted several hours

Shortly before 9:30 a.m., officers were called a building in the area of North First Street and East Rosemary Street to investigate reports of a disturbance. Police said one involved male was possibly armed and was refusing to exit.

"Units are trying to negotiate with the male for a peaceful resolution," police said on social media Monday.

Around 1:30 p.m., the suspect exited the building and was taken into custody without incident. Police said a firearm was located at the scene.

The suspect's name was not released. Additional details about the incident were not immeiatly available.
