Police Confront Bottle-Throwing Crowd In Oakland

OAKLAND (CBS SF) – Oakland police officers were trying to disperse a crowd of roughly 150 people who began throwing bottles Saturday night.

Officers responded to a report of a large crowd in the 300 block of 13th Street around 9:20 p.m., Oakland police Officer J. Moore said.

Moore said the crowd was moving into traffic but said the event was not a demonstration.

"I'm not sure where they were coming from," Moore said.

As of 10:30 p.m., Moore said he wasn't sure if the crowd had dispersed but said officers were still on scene.

There were no injuries reported and Moore said he wasn't sure if there was any property damage.
