Antioch Police Arrest 14-Year-Old Boy After 11-Year-Old Found Shot In Chest

ANTIOCH (CBS SF) -- The suspected shooter of an 11-year-old boy in Antioch Thursday was arrested that night and identified as a 14-year old boy, police said Friday.

The shooting was reported in the 800 block of I Street at about 11:15 a.m.

The 11-year-old was found shot in the chest by officers and airlifted to UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento. He remains in stable condition at the hospital today and is expected to survive, police said.

At about 10:45 p.m. police arrested the 14-year-old on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and negligent discharge of a firearm, police said.

He was booked at the Antioch Police Department and transferred to Juvenile Hall. His name has not been released.
