Contra Costa firefighters quickly contain brush in Pittsburg neighborhood

PITTSBURG – Fire crews in the East Bay quickly contained a brush fire that burned near homes in a Pittsburg neighborhood Friday afternoon.

Around 3:50 p.m., the Contra Costa County Fire Protection Announced that crews responded to what was described as a "large" vegetation fire on the 2200 block of Santa Maria Drive.

Shortly before 4:30 p.m., the agency said the fire was fully contained. About 1.5 acres of a hillside burned in the fire.

No injuries were reported.
