During the closure, southbound Interstate 280 and southbound Interstate 680 were closed at Highway 101. Ramps connecting southbound I-680 and southbound 101, and northbound 101 to northbound 280 were also closed.

Authorities gave the man a pizza, water and a cellphone as they attempted to talk him down.

The CHP said to expect residual delays in the area Monday night.

In December, traffic on Interstate 680 was disrupted for nine hours after a woman threatened to jump off an overpass. The woman was taken from the freeway and was booked into jail. She also was accused of allegedly attacking a sheriff's deputy.
