Peavy Solid; Giants Hold On For 3-2 Win Over Washington In Game 1 Of NLDS

WASHINGTON (CBS SF) -- The San Francisco Giants have won the the first game of the National League Division Series against the top-seeded Washington Nationals Friday by a 3-2 score.

The Giants went out to a 3-0 lead before the Nationals broke out with back-to-back home runs in the seventh inning against reliever Giants reliever Hunter Strickland.

Starter Jake Peavy got the win for the Giants, who will play one more game in Washington in the best-of-five matchup before returning to AT&T Park in San Francisco for Game 3 and Game 4, if necessary.

Game 5 would be played in Washington if the series is extended that far.
