Palo Alto High School briefly locked down after threatening message found in classroom
PALO ALTO -- A shelter-in-place order issued at Palo Alto High School Tuesday morning after a threatening message was found has ended, according to authorities.
Palo Alto High School sent out an alert regarding the safety precaution the school was under after the message was found in a classroom.

The incident began a little before 9 a.m. when a teacher found a note taped to the door saying that the person who left the note intended to "shoot up" the classroom later in the morning.
"It should be noted that a final examination was scheduled to occur later that morning in that same classroom," Palo Alto police said in a statement.
The school was placed on lockdown for about a half hour. Police said all students and staff are safe and there was "no active emergency" at the school.
Campus administrators called the police, who came to the school and are still investigating the incident, which could result in criminal charges once a suspect is identified.
Officers will remain on and around campus for the rest of the day.
