Pair Of Shootings In Richmond Leave 2 Men Dead

RICHMOND (CBS SF) – Police are investigating separate shootings that each killed a man on Tuesday in Richmond, a police lieutenant said Wednesday.

The first shooting Richmond police were alerted to occurred around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at South 12th Street and Virginia Avenue, Lt. Felix Tan said.

A man was found suffering a gunshot wound at the scene and succumbed to his injuries. He was identified today by the Contra Costa County coroner's office as 42-year-old Antwan Foster of Oakland.

Richmond police then received a call around 9:45 p.m. about shots being fired and a person possibly being gunned down in the 200 block of Gertrude Avenue, Tan said.

Responding officers found a victim on a sidewalk there suffering a gunshot wound to the upper torso, Tan said.

The man, identified Wednesday by the coroner's office as 32-year-old Antioch resident Paul King, died at the scene.

Tan said there have been no suspects arrested in connection with either shooting.

He said the incidents are under investigation and detectives are following up on leads.
