Overturned Tanker Truck Spills Fuel, Closes Hwy 1 In Jenner

JENNER (CBS SF) -- An overturned tanker that spilled fuel closed state Highway 1 north of Jenner, a community in Sonoma County, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Officers responded to a report of the overturned tanker in the area of the 14000 block of state Highway 1 shortly before 8:30 a.m., CHP officials said.

No injuries were reported.

Information on how much fuel spilled on the roadway was not immediately available.

Multiple hazardous materials crews have responded to the scene to clean up the fuel, according to the CHP.

A Sig-alert was issued at 11:43 a.m. closing Highway 1 in both directions. The roadway was estimated to reopen around 7:30 p.m., CHP officials said.
