Winter's Coming: Chunky Bear Spotted Lumbering Around South Lake Tahoe
SOUTH LAKE TAHOE (CBS SF) -- Brown leaves and cooler temperatures are typical indicators that winter is around the corner.
But for one South Lake Tahoe neighborhood, the turning of the seasons is observed through a chunky bear who was spotted by Tahoe Daily Tribune photographer Jennifer Heiden last Saturday afternoon.
The bear's legs are barely visible, leading some residents to assume it's a she, and that she is very pregnant. Or is just perfectly plump and prepared to spend the next several months hibernating in a nearby den. And with a storm system expected to drop some heavy snowfall in the Sierra Nevada this weekend, that may not be such a bad idea.
