Officials Believe Gas Leak Sparked Fire At Oakland Glass Factory

OAKLAND (CBS SF) -- A fire in the basement of an Oakland factory Wednesday afternoon might have been fueled by a gas leak, fire officials said.

A fire was reported at 3600 Alameda Ave. near the Fruitvale Bridge to Alameda at 1:56 p.m., according to the fire department.

Firefighters found flames in a glass factory basement fueled by a possible gas leak, fire officials said. They managed to control the fire by 2:22 p.m.

A PG&E spokeswoman said any leak was not related to any PG&E facilities.
