Oakland Wikipedia Page Declares LeBron Mayor After Cavs Win
OAKLAND (CBS SF) – As the disappointed Golden State Warriors fans streamed out of the Oracle Arena Monday night, they had no idea that Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James had been named the new mayor of Oakland.
At least that was the case according to the city's Wikipedia page.
Some hacker, obviously a fan of the Cavs, had overwrote the listing with it now saying James was now the mayor and Kyrie Irving was the state senator representing the city.
The site was quickly updated again with the correct information, but not before the hack caused some good-natured ribbing in the growing NBA rivalry.
While James and Irving were not the new political power in the town, they certainly owned the night on the court at Oracle.
Down 3-1 in the best-of-seven NBA Finals to the defeating champ Warriors, James scored 41 points, had 16 rebounds, dished out seven assists and blocked three shots to lead the Cavs to a 112-97 victory to force a Game 6 in Cleveland Thursday night.
Irving was equally brilliant scoring 41 points on 17-for-24 shooting to give the Cavaliers the first pair of teammates to score at least 40 in the same game in NBA Finals history.
