Oakland: Two Victims Shot And Injured In Separate Robberies

OAKLAND (CBS SF) -- Oakland police are investigating a shooting that occurred during a robbery early Thursday morning that sent one person to the hospital, a police spokesman said.

The shooting was reported at 1:12 a.m. in the 1600 block of 34th Avenue.

Three suspects, including one armed with a gun, approached the victim and robbed and shot him, police spokesman Officer Frank Bonifacio said.

The victim was taken to a hospital in stable condition while the trio of suspects fled and had not been found as of this morning, Bonifacio said.

On Wednesday, a separate victim was shot at about 9:50 a.m. in the 2800 block of 68th Avenue.

The victim was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive; no arrests have been made, Bonifacio said.

He said the two shootings are not believed to be related.
