Oakland Billboard Advertising Nevada 'Bunny Ranch' Taken Down

OAKLAND (KPIX 5) – A sign on an Oakland billboard advertising a brothel in Nevada was taken down this week, following complaints from a city leader and concerned parents.

The billboard, which KPIX 5 first reported on Thursday, was located along Interstate 580 near the MacArthur Boulevard. It advertised the Moonlite Bunny Ranch near Reno, promoting the establishment's bar and cigar area.

On Monday, the pink sign showing Bunny Ranch owner Dennis Hof was removed. In its place was a sign for last month's BottleRock Napa festival.

City Councilman Mike Gallo was adamant about taking the billboard down, saying it had "no place in Oakland."

The billboard is located less than a mile away from a child development center.

In an interview with KPIX 5 last week, Hof defended the billboard and said parents should keep an eye on their children.
