Neighbor Cries Foul After NorCal Man Kills Bear That Allegedly Ate His Chickens
AUBURN (CBS SF) -- Some NorCal neighbors are questioning whether a man should have shot and killed a bear that came into their yard.
The man said the 300-pound bear had eaten his chickens and he thought it was coming back for more.
One neighbor said killing the bear was probably a natural reaction, but Lea Pisarek questioned whether killing the animal was really necessary.
"I think the bear just came out because he was hungry," said Pisarek. "I wish he'd give a second thought to killing the bear."
The man said the bear had killed six of his chickens.
