NASA Video Shows Example Of Supermoon Lunar Eclipse Happening September 27th

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- If you missed out on the last supermoon, don't worry, because NASA says a supermoon lunar eclipse is coming up toward the end of the month.

A supermoon occurs when a full moon is displayed at, or very near the moon's perigree, making it appear larger than normal.  A lunar eclipse happens when the moon passes directly behind Earth into its shadow.  The rare event happens when a supermoon coincides with a lunar eclipse on September 27^th.

The last supermoon lunar eclipse happened in 1982, and the next one after this months' event won't happen until 2033.

The supermoon lunar eclipse will be visible from the Bay Area, and other parts of the world.
