Narsai David Food News: Two Wines That You Should Be Drinking This Summer
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS)— Our food and wine expert Narsai David has two wine recommendations that should find their way on your dinner table this summer. Remember that some wines go great especially accompanies by food and others are simply for savoring.
The Dashe 2013 Zinfandel Dry Creek Valley has a lush purple color with lots of raspberry aroma along with a floral spiciness all of those notes fall right on the palate accompanied by a great balance of acid and tannin. It's good to drink now, but a few years of age would let it develop a delicious complexity. At $26, it's certainly a fair price.
The 2013 Dutton Ranch Pinot Noir from the Russian River Valley is lovely and designed to be served with food and only has 13 percent alcohol. Here's a wine that truly tastes like Pinot Noir; light and subtle hints of berries, but still plenty of fruit flavor. Mind you, it's not a fruit bomb with alcohol in the 15 percent range. It would be no less than fantastic with some grilled wild king salmon or prime rib. This is more of an investment at $40 a bottle.
