Napa Police Arrest Man Suspected Of Stabbing His Father

NAPA (CBS SF) -- A 33-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of stabbing his father in Napa on Saturday afternoon, police said.

Anthony Resendez, a Napa resident, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and resisting arrest, according to police. He was booked into county jail on Saturday evening.

Officers responded to a report of a stabbing in the 100 block of Almond Avenue around 12:45 p.m. Saturday, police said.

Arriving officers found Resendez in the backyard of a home, according to police.

Resendez allegedly did not follow the officers' orders and resisted arrest, but he was eventually taken into custody, police said.

An investigation indicated that Resendez's 57-year-old father was in a shed in the backyard where his son walked in and stabbed him in the back and arm multiple times, according to police.

Resendez's father suffered injuries that were not considered life-threatening and was transported to Queen of the Valley Medical Center for treatment, police said.
