Mountain Lion Spotted Next To Dead Deer In San Carlos Neighborhood
SAN CARLOS (CBS SF) -- A mountain lion was seen Thursday night in San Carlos, according to the San Mateo County Office of Emergency Services.
Officials said a resident returning home saw the lion on the side of the road standing over a dead dear at about 10:23 p.m. in the 300 block Devonshire Boulevard.
Officials searched for the lion but never found it.

The Thursday sighting came a day after a mountain lion was shot and killed in Santa Clara County following a Sunday attack in Cupertino.
That lion, a 65-pound male, is believed to be responsible for attacking a 6-year-old boy who was hiking with his family.
Officials said most mountain lions will usually try to avoid confrontation with people, but people should not approach one if they see it.
Hikers and joggers should avoid those activities at dawn, dusk and at night in areas where mountain lions may be.
Officials said people who encounter a mountain lion should not run but should face the animal, make noise, try looking bigger by waving their arms, and throw rocks or other objects.
