Morgan Hill Man Arrested For Sexual Assault Faces New Allegations By 7 Women
MORGAN HILL (CBS SF) -- A Morgan Hill man who was arrested in August on suspicion of sexual assault is being accused of committing more assaults after several additional victims recently came forward, according to police.
On July 19, a woman told police that she had been sexually assaulted multiple times in one evening while unconscious in San Jose, according to police.
The woman identified 46-year-old Damou Evans as the suspect. After investigating the incident, officers then arrested Evans in late August, police said.
After his arrest, seven additional victims recently came forward accusing Evans of sexual assault. After investigating the incidents, officers amended the original complaint to include the multiple victims' allegations, according to police.
In light of the new allegations, Morgan Hill police believe Evans could face life in prison if convicted of the crimes.
Evans remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in Santa Clara County Superior Court on Nov. 9, according to jail records.
