Molting Tarantula Looks Like a Scene From 'Aliens'
(CBS SF) – A YouTube video from Tarantupedia, a encyclopedia website dedicated to Tarantulas, is garnering some views due to a time lapse footage of a tarantula in the molting process.
The process to film the tarantula took about 10 hours, but the fascinating footage has been sped to fit within 5 and half minutes. The footage looks as though an alien life form is about to burst out of the host body like in the "Alien" series of movies that started in the 70's.
The tarantula molting shows the rupturing of the exoskeleton and the spider trying to remove its self from it. Then leaving a near-perfect copy of its self.
