UPDATE: Missing San Francisco Girl Found Safe In Pittsburg With Michigan Runaway

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF/BCN) -- Police in San Francisco on Friday confirmed that a missing 14-year-old girl who left her SF home last week and a runaway boy from Michigan were found safe in Pittsburg, authorities said.

Katlin Gallaread left home sometime between 8 p.m. Tuesday and 1:30 p.m. Feb. 19 without telling her family, police said.

Earlier Friday, police announced that Katlin may be accompanied by 16-year-old Tyler Sexton, a runaway from Monroe, Michigan. The pair's last known location was in Sacramento.

Friday afternoon, the two teens were found by Pittsburg police after a city maintenance worker recognized them and notified authorities.

Both teens appear to be in good health are reportedly not the victims of any crime.

SFPD thanked Pittsburg police, the public works employee who spotted the teens and for Bay Area residents and news media who spread the word for their assistance bringing the case to a safe resolution.
