Milpitas Fitness Trainer Accused Of Raping Teen Client Held On $4.4 Million Bail In Santa Clara County Jail
MILPITAS (CBS/AP) -- Police in Milpitas say a fitness trainer is in jail after he was accused earlier this month of raping a 16-year-old female client.
Milpitas police say 42-year-old William Tracy McCowan was arrested July 9 near his Milpitas home after a sexual assault was reported to police three days earlier.
The San Jose Mercury News reported Sunday that -- according to police -- the self-employed McCowan was the girl's fitness trainer when the assault allegedly occurred.
Authorities say McCowan remains in the Santa Clara County jail on suspicion of rape, penetration with a foreign object and oral copulation, according to police.
He is being held on $4.4 million bail.
