Michigan Head Coach Jim Harbaugh Meets With De La Salle HS Prospects
CONCORD (CBS SF) -- Michigan football head coach and former San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh was back in the Bay Area Tuesday, causing a stir at an East Bay high school.
Harbaugh was in Concord on a visit to prep football powerhouse and reigning state champion De La Salle High School, where he reportedly met with two top prospects who have yet to declare their intentions for college.
One player is 6-5, 272-pound tight end Devin Asiasi, the other is 6-1, 303-pound Boss Tagaloa, a defensive lineman. Asiasi and Tagaloa are ranked 44th and 95th, respectively, on ESPN's Top 300 high school players nationwide.
Also in town and on the same mission was offensive coordinator for the national champion Alabama Crimson Tide and former Oakland Raiders head coach Lane Kiffin, according to KPIX 5 Sports Director Dennis O'Donnell.
Perennial state champion De La Salle is one of the most renowned prep football programs in the U.S., and holds a national record 151-game winning streak from 1992 to 2004.
