Mexico Teen Found With Meth-Filled Tequila Bottles At San Jose Mineta Airport
SAN JOSE (KCBS) — Federal agents at Mineta San Jose International Airport arrested a teenage boy from Mexico after he allegedly brought a half-million dollars' worth of methamphetamine in his luggage, authorities said Wednesday.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials said their officers arrested the 17-year old on New Year's Eve after they learned he was transporting more than a gallon of liquid methamphetamine in his bags.
Officials said they found 5 one-liter tequila bottles containing clear liquid.
According to a statement from the agency, lab tests on the liquid confirmed it was meth with a street value of about $500,000.
The drugs were seized and turned over to San Jose police.
