Measles Outbreak Grows To 95 Cases, 10 Cases In Bay Area

SACRAMENTO (CBS SF) – The California Department of Public Health reported Wednesday that the measles outbreak that started in Southern California has grown to 95 cases in eight states and Mexico.

The department said 79 of those cases are in California and 10 of those cases involve Bay Area residents. Fifty-two cases can be linked directly to measles exposure at Disneyland.

In the Bay Area, there are six measles cases in Alameda County, two cases in San Mateo County and two cases in Santa Clara County.

Earlier this week, two stores in Gilroy and the Dave & Busters restaurant at the Great Mall in Milpitas have warned customers about possible measles exposure.

Outside California and Mexico, cases have been reported in Arizona, Colorado, Michigan, Nebraska, Oregon, Utah and Washington state.
