Brush Fire Burns 30 Acres Near Highway 4 in Martinez

MARTINEZ (CBS SF) -- Contra Costa County Fire Protection Agency crews have contained a 3-alarm brush fire that burned more than 30 acres Friday evening along westbound Highway 4 and Alhambra Avenue in Martinez.

The three-alarm blaze was comprised of multiple fires, possibly started by a vehicle, but forward progress was stopped at 8:30 p.m. Friday, according to fire officials.

California Highway Patrol officials first reported the fire at 7:13 p.m.

Highway 4 was reopened shortly before 9:30 p.m.

Fire officials have not yet determined the cause of the fire.
