Man, Woman Killed After Ejected From BMW Reported Carjacked In Oakland

(CBS SF) -- A man and woman killed in a car crash in Madera County early Friday morning were driving a BMW reported carjacked in Oakland, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash happened at about 2 a.m. as the two were traveling south in the 2008 BMW on state Highway 99 just north of Madera, CHP officials said.

The speeding BMW crashed into the back of a Freightliner big-rig and overturned multiple times, ejecting the car's two occupants, according to the CHP.

They were both killed in the crash. The man was identified by the Madera County Sheriff's Office as 27-year-old Omar Jason Spencer of Oakland. The woman has not yet been identified.

The BMW they were driving was reported stolen in a carjacking in the 1100 block of 10th Avenue at about 9:15 a.m. on Oct. 3, according to Oakland police records.
